Citizens’ Voice reported Matt Cartwright’s influential support in securing a Federal Emergency Agency grant for Luzerne County:
“U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, came to the Forty Fort Sports Complex Friday to award an $813,900 Federal Emergency Agency grant to the Luzerne Flood Protection Authority.” …
“Cartwright said the project is important to prevent flooding, to protect homes and businesses, to keep people safe and to keep costs low for homeowners.”
“’If we don’t keep up our flood protection system, we worry about flood insurance for homeowners, which could be crippling. This is a real concern,’ he said. ‘We’re coming up to tropical storm season again and we’re way out in front of it.’”
