Scranton, Pa. — Today, Congressman Matt Cartwright officially declared victory in the race for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District. He announced his victory in downtown Scranton, in front of the statue of the late union leader, John Mitchell.
The congressman made his announcement following the race being called by the Associated Press, CNN and FOX News.
Congressman Cartwright issued the following statement:
“I’d like to thank the voters of northeastern Pennsylvania for electing me to serve another term as your congressman. I look forward to continuing to fight for the working people of our community. Whether you voted for me or not in this election, I promise I work for you.”
