Scranton, Pa. — In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Jim Bognet has doubled down on his extremist views regarding reproductive rights.
When women everywhere learned the news that the Supreme Court would be taking away what had been a constitutional right for a half century, Bognet called it an “amazing day.”
Bognet has also made clear he supports a total ban on abortion through the Life at Conception Act, with no exceptions even in cases of rape, incest and when the life of the woman is at stake.
Congressman Matt Cartwright, on the other hand, voted to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. Matt Cartwright supports a woman’s right to choose and believes these decisions should be made between a woman and her healthcare provider.
Campaign press secretary David Early issued the following statement:
“Jim Bognet’s extremist views on abortion access are out of step with the values of everday, hard-working northeastern Pennslvanians who don’t want these decisions made for them by Washington politicians, especially not by one who’s made his career selling out our community to the highest bidder. His radical views simply do not reflect who we are and what we stand for.”
